ABOUT

Kate Ingram

Hello! I’m Kate, and I am a life transitions coach, author, and counselor of more than 20 years. I work primarily with people who are going through major life transitions like divorce, death, illness, retirement, career change, and the midlife passage.

Transitions are really all about navigating change, loss, and grief, and life has allowed me to become a bit of an expert in this particular area: I lost my father, mother, husband and brother in three different Decembers beginning when I was eight years old. I’ve also been through chronic illness, divorce, midlife, and a dozen other losses and transitions in my time on the planet. And what I’ve learned from these experiences, and those of my clients, is that such times are more than just an ordeal to get through: they are also potent opportunities for discovering a deeper, more meaningful life. Transitional periods are both difficult and amazing opportunities for new vision and new potential to emerge.

I became a Self Belief Coach because I wanted to offer my clients something more than what counseling alone provided. I discovered that sometimes, even with tons of knowledge and years of therapy, you can still get caught up in old, frustrating patterns that keep you from moving into the life you want. I wanted to help people heal through difficult transitions and get past the sticky spots that keep them from moving forward with practical tools that address their fears and doubts and connect them to their innate self-worth, self-trust, self-acceptance and self-belief.

Although psychology and spiritual wisdom traditions are my passion (Jungian psychology, dreamwork, Taoism, and the Enneagram are like oxygen for my soul), I also really love the simple pleasures: baseball, the natural world, animals, jazz standards, Jasmine Pearl tea, a really good Old Fashioned, and all things Italian. You’ll almost always find me barefoot and in blue jeans. I’ve lived in Chicago, Portland, and San Francisco but these days, I live with my husband, two wonderful and wildly artistic teenagers, a handicapable Havanese and a love junkie English Cream Golden Retriever in one of the “Top 10 Coolest Small Towns in America,” an historic gold rush town in the wine country of Southern Oregon.
